In a society where the use of new technology is on the rise, it is important to recognize the consequences that it brings, especially among the youth. This acrylic painting depicts a female teenager in a crowd of conversing people. She is bound by cell phone accessories: headphones on the left and a charger on the right. These are connected to a phone. On the screen is a smiley face and marionette cross bars. This is a representation of how so much of our youth today are overly attached to technology; that it's almost as if it were controlling them, even if it may seem like a harmless interaction. It can take away the opportunity of achieving a social connection and instead creates an unwelcoming and lifeless space.
